About the
paintings
Originals
Originals are one of a kind. This is the actual painting that the
artist devoted time to applying paint techniques to a stretched
piece of watercolor paper. See the artist statement
and the photos from nature to learn more
about what inspires the artist to create these unique paintings.
Limited Edition
Signature Limited Editions are archival prints that have a limited
print run. Marsee does a short number of prints to ensure a greater
value for the collector. For example, the number 5/25 on a limited
edition means that piece is the 5th one printed of 25. After 25
are sold, that exact piece will never be reproduced again by the
artist. It is valuable because it will never be mass produced.
Archival
Prints
Reproductions of the original painting that are printed with archival
ink onto archival paper. Archival means that with the proper care,
a piece will be preserved for up to 200 years without fading. As
with traditional photos, proper care will minimize color changes
and maximize display life. To protect the prints from atmospheric
contaminants like humidity, cigarette smoke, and high levels of
ozone, it is recommended that prints be:
- framed under
glass {or}
- placed in
a plastic sleeve
- prints should
also be kept out of direct sunlight. The actual display life of
photographs will vary in accordance with lighting conditions and
exposure to atmospheric contaminants. Independent testing by Wilhelm
Imaging Research, on the print process.
